| Otis Redding, possibly the greatest soul singer of all time. In June 1967 the young crowd discovered Otis when he performed at the Monterey Pop Festival shortly before this performance. Despite such acts as Big Brother and the Holding Company with Janis Joplin, The Who, Jimi Hendrix and others that captured the crowd's fascination, Otis stunned everyone with his dramatic soul singing performance. It is more than tragic such singers as Marvin Gaye, Otis Redding and Sam Cooke left way too early in their careers, we all miss them. |
